Liam Ford Band won the 2008 and 2009 Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards for Best Rockabilly Band and recently nominated for the 2010 award.
Front man, Liam Ford, is no stranger to the music scenes in both the Milwaukee area and in L.A. where he spent 10 years making a name for himself in and around southern California. During the 80's, he earned local recognition as the hard-rockin' leader of "Big Bang Theory", as well as other regional bands. Besides his dynamic vocals, Liam also delivers a high energy guitar performance along with on-stage charisma that gets the crowd up on their feet, dancing or singing along, at every show. Liam has also recently gained state-wide recognition performing a Johnny Cash tribute, "The Twenty Greatestest Hits of Johnny Cash" with the ever-popular, Mark Shurilla and the Greatest Hits Band.
Frank Calarco, 2010 WAMI nominated guitarist, has been a local guitar legend with a characteristic style that has him in constant playing mode since the 1980's. Fans remember his unique contribution to The Lazarus Effect, from 1989-1992. In 2009, Frank earned his first WAMI nomination for "Best Guitar Player."
Jeffrey Lee Hoormann, "Jeff the Bassman", who also shares vocals, has spent nearly 3 decades playing with bands in both the south and the midwest, including Diamond Alley, award-winning UXB, WAMI winner Sig Snopek, Big Bang, Lynn Roginske, The Amigos and currently, The All American Jazz Orchestra, and Big Swing Face.
Andy Pagel, WAMI nominated drummer, is well known to area audiences and musicians. His multi-year stint with the popular Western Box Turtles earned him widespread recognition as a respected drummer. Listen for Andy's smooth background vocals and occasional lead vocals with the band.
Put together these hard-drivin', experienced talents and you have the most acclaimed (2X WAMI Award winners) rockabilly band in the midwest. They'll hit the stage and take the crowd for a musical ride they won't forget.
